All you need to know to prepare for the conference.

Registration and Check-in

Please be sure to check in upon arrival in order to receive your name tag (which must be worn at all times for access into conference events) and all required conference materials.

  • Monday: For those who indicated arrival on Monday evening, please check in at the Office of Admissions up until 4:30 PM located in Levermore Hall, Room 114.  After 4:30 p.m., you can check in at Earle Hall.
  • Tuesday: Tuesday check-in and registration will be in the NYSACAC Welcome Center located in the Center for Recreation and Sports between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m., you may check in at Earle Hall.
  • Wednesday: Wednesday check-in and registration will be in the NYSACAC Welcome Center located in the Center for Recreation and Sports between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m., you may check in at Earle Hall.
  • Thursday: Thursday check-in and registration will be in the NYSACAC Welcome Center located in the Center for Recreation and Sports between the hours of  8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. After 7:00 p.m., you may check in at Earle Hall.

Address, Directions and Transportation

  • Adelphi University’s address (GPS-friendly) is 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530.
  • Limited shuttle service will be provided to and from JFK Airport as well as from both the Nassau Boulevard and Mineola train stops.  
  • Ample parking will be available on campus. No parking permit is required.

What to Pack and Prepare

 We encourage you to check the local forecast for zip code 11530 prior to packing.

  • Business casual attire during the day and casual attire for the evening socials (keep in mind if you plan to attend events such as the Beach social and the Belmont Track excursion!)
  • A light jacket in case of cool weather or a light raincoat and/or umbrella in case of showers
  • A portable fan for your residence hall room (just in case of a warm forecast!)
  • Toiletries and shower-shoes for your week’s stay
  • A pen and notepad for notes throughout the conference
  • Business cards – plenty of cards to distribute as you network! 
  • Alcoholic beverages will not be permitted under any circumstances anywhere in the residence halls, including student rooms. Alcohol or drugs possessed in violation of this policy are subject to confiscation. 

Accessibility/Disability Support Services

Individuals with disabilities and/or special needs, requiring accommodations related to attending the NYSACAC Conference or your use of the Adelphi University residence and dining facilities, must put all requests in writing to conference14@nysacac.org no later than Friday, May 30, 2014.
